Payment is only accepted through PayPal.
*If you are a member of a student subunit within the Chapter (ECU, UMD, Duke, UMES), you are automatically a Tidewater AFS member.
AFS Tidewater Chapter dues are $10.00 annually.
Meeting Format
Presentations will be student-only and will be pre-recorded with live question and answer sessions hourly. As with past meeting there will be three categories:
Lightning Talks: 3-minute recorded presentation, 1-slide)
Oral Presentations (12-minute recorded presentation)
Poster Presentations (5-minute recorded presentation)
Important Deadlines
Abstracts: April 2 | 300 words or less
Recordings: Due April 16. Upload using FORM or email to Jan McDowell
Registration: Open through April 21.
There will be monetary awards in the oral and poster categories
for recording presentations.
View the detailed short tutorial presentation (6:45) above. The end result should be a recorded PowerPoint session saved as an MPEG-4 file (*.mp4). The video highlights how to create and save a voice recorded PowerPoint presentation. Please limit your recordings to the allotted time as they will be cut to 23 minutes. Use the linked FORM above to upload your video or you can email Jan McDowell.
To record in PowerPoint: Slide Show > Record Slide Show > Start Recording from Beginning > Tick both “Slide and Animation Timings” and “Narrations, Ink, and Laser Pointer” > Right arrow key to move through slides.
To save your recording in the proper format: File > Export > Create Video “Full HD” Option: Select “Presentation Quality” and “Use Recorded Timing and Narrations” > Save MPEG-4 Only > Upload to Online Google Folder.
