How do I apply for the Eileen Setzler-Hamilton Memorial Scholarship?

This scholarship is awarded to an outstanding graduate student in the AFS Tidewater geographic area (NC, VA, MD) who is currently enrolled and has displayed a commitment to excellence in their professional endeavors and in public service.  The scholarship was created in 2003 to remember Dr. Eileen Setzler-Hamilton, long-time member of the American Fisheries Society and 4th president (1989) of the Tidewater Chapter.  The award carries a $800 cash prize and is presented at the annual meeting of the Tidewater Chapter held each spring. The application period usually opens up mid-December with a deadline 30 to 45 days later. An announcement opening up the application period is made via the Chapter listserv, and updated application instructions will become available for download off the Chapter website. The current chair of the Awards and Scholarship Committee is Sara Mirabilio, who can be contacted at semirabi (at) ncsu.edu or 252-475-5488 (office landline).
